Softball Tryout Date set for March 16th!

Softball Tournament Team Tryouts

When: March 16th10U: 9:00-10:00 12U: 12:00-2:00 14U/16U: 2:30-4:30 

Where: Wahanna Softball Field (SHS Gym if it’s raining; will post on FB if we will be at the HS)

Please register for softball ahead of time at www.seasidekidsinc.com Age cutoff: January 1. This means whatever age the player was on January 1st determines the age level they may qualify to play at. Example: Player that is turned 13 after January 1 is still eligible for 12U and up. You may play up an age group but not down. Questions? Ask at tryouts! 

Bring: Bring a mitt and athletic shoes.

Remember- there are two types of teams you can play on for softball in ages 10U and up. You will be on an Astoria League team if you sign up for that league but you could also be on a Tournament Team if you come to the tryout and make the team. Teams will be finalized by April 1st and Tournament Team Coaches will contact every player who came to tryouts on whether they made the team or not. 

Astoria League: Plays in 8 to 10 games in the Ilwaco and Clatsop County area.  Games are early June through the 1st-2nd week of July. Practice starts in early May. Register and coaches will call you in late April/early May. Parents help with our local tournaments. 

Tournament Team: Playing in 5 or so tournaments throughout NW Oregon on weekends from May through July. Practice starts in April. Players may be asked to fundraise for items such a team sweatshirts. Parents help with home tournaments. Must be able to commit to all tournaments. Possible costs for families= hotel, transportation, food.
