T-Ball
T-ball is a fun and introductory version of baseball designed for children ages 4 to 6, focusing on developing basic motor skills and an understanding of teamwork. In T-ball, young players take turns hitting a stationary ball off a tee, which helps them build coordination, balance, and hand-eye coordination. The game introduces simple concepts of baseball, such as running bases, fielding, and taking turns, while keeping the atmosphere light-hearted and supportive. T-ball is a fantastic way for kids to gain confidence, socialize with peers, and enjoy physical activity in a safe and encouraging environment.
Cal Ripkin (Local League)
Rookie
Designed primarily for ballplayers ages 7-8, this division makes use of coaches to pitch and to allow for more hittable balls at the plate and more action in the field. Fear of actually being hit by a pitched ball is diminished. It makes the game safer and improves the playing confidence and ability of all participants.
Minor
Recommended for ballplayers ages 9-10. Players build and refine their fundamental skills including beginnings of pitching, while beginning to understand game strategy and teamwork. In most regions, participants first experience post-season tournament competition in this level.
Majors 60 + 70
Features a 46' pitching distance and 60' or 70' base paths. Special base running rules are also in effect. This division is offered as an option to the major division format, and includes a tournament.
Tournament Team
Tournament team is in addition to rec ball with Lower Columbia League. Players will participate in all rec ball practices and games as well as one additional practice per week for the travel team. For league play, the tournament team may play Major60 or Major70. This program is designed towards our 5th and 6th grade boys and will be in place of doing a JBO team. There will be no 12U JBO team for the 2025 season.
